Traffic Stop leads to Meth Lab in Lee Co.

A traffic stop in Scott County on Saturday evening led to the discovery of a methamphetamine lab in Lee County and the arrest of two people, said Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons.
Parsons said officers of the Scott County Sheriff's Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration had been watching a suspect for some time and decided to initiate a stop of his vehicle on Saturday.
The suspect, Gerald Dagnan, 46, 1712 Clouse Highway, Whiteside, Tenn., had a lengthy criminal history and was also wanted on a fugitive warrant in Chattanooga for manufacturing methamphetamine there, said the sheriff.
Parsons said Dagnan was traveling with another person, Kimberly A. Robinette Pierson, 38, Route 3, Box 31-A, Clinchport.
A search of the two revealed Dagnan to be in possession of 20 grams of methamphetamine. Under questioning, Pierson told authorities she was living with Dagnan, whom she referred to only as "Lucky," at a house in Keokee where they had manufactured the drug, said the sheriff.
Parsons said Scott County and DEA officials notified his office of the situation and Pierson led authorities to their Keokee home. Pierson gave authorities consent to search the house, where a methamphetamine lab was found and dismantled.
Scott authorities said Dagnan was charged in that county with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II narcotic, conspiracy to violate the drug control act and with the fugitive warrant. He is being held without bail.
Pierson was charged in Lee County with manufacturing a Schedule I or II narcotic and is also being held without bail.
Parsons said his office and the Scott County Sheriff's Department were assisted in the case by officers from the DEA, the Virginia State Police and the drug task force.
Parsons extended his appreciation to all the officers involved and commended them for their efforts and cooperation.

one thing that is funny about it is how big they make it out to be, it took the scott county police,lee county police, the dea, the drug task force, and the virginia state police to knock one door down and go into a trailer after 1 cop arrested a dude without violence. LOL, better bring in the national guard next time

It may seem amusing to some, but generally speaking raiding a meth lab is a dangerous situation.

The chemicals themselves are very unstable once professing starts, meth labs are often booby-trapped, and are frequently highly guarded (though that's not necessarily the case for all labs).

I'd rather see 'overkill' than for someone to send a couple of cops in there alone. The news story could have ended up being "cops killed while raiding meth lab" instead of "meth lab found & dismantled"

Boy, wanted on fugitive charges in Memphis, coming to an out of the way hole like Keokee, and still getting caught. That's guy's not much of a professional criminal. Should change that nickname of "Lucky."

What many don't realize. Depending on the size of the lab being operated. Had a few things went wrong. Boom and you lose half a block maybe more.
Also, like how quickly the girlfriend who was living with him, rolled over. Think that is a relationship that will last?
But honestly if some have never seen it. Meth is a dangerous drug to produce, and the use and meth labs, are on the rise. Basically because you can set them up almost anywhere.
But in what i have seen and read meth is very unstable and volatile and can really be a major problem.
Like i said one explosion, well you could lose half a block. Something to think about. Getting more local all the time. Not sure how remote this house may of been. But i bet some in the Keokee area are po'ed to know this potential bomb was cooking near their homes.
